What size cake should I get?

Suggested serving sizes can vary, and can be dependent on whether your feeding adults, children, or serving cake with other dessert. If you’re between sizes, size up! This will help leave some buffer room and allow for larger slices, second servings, or leftovers! …which is never a bad thing in our opinion!

  • 6″4 layer (serves 6-8)
  • 8″2 layer (serves 8-10)
  • 8”3 layer (serves 10-12)
  • 9” 2 layer (serves 10-15)
  • 9″3 layer (serves 12-18)
  • 10″2 layer (serves 15-18)
  • 10″3 layer (serves 15-20)
  • 1/4 slab (serves 15-20)
  • 1/2 slab (serves 20-40)
  • Full slab (serves 50-100)

How much time is required for orders?

All orders require a minimum of 48 office hour notice, and the office accepts orders Monday-Friday 8:00-4:00pm. The office closes at 4:00pm so in order for us to submit and process an order in time, we need all required information at least 30 minutes before the deadline. Use the below guide to answer based off their requested pickup day:

The website says I can’t pick up past 2:00pm but you’re open until 4:00pm?

Our latest pickup option online is 2:00pm because our baker’s leave at 2:00pm. We have this setup because if something were to happen to the cake and it needed to be fixed/changed, the bakers are present to be able to assist. You’re welcome to put a note at the checkout requesting a later pickup time, we just like to advise people that if something does happen after 2:00pm the baker won’t be available to fix it.

What might happen to a cake? 

  • It slides while being transferred from bakery to car because it wasn’t handled properly
  • Something was misspelled during your online submission and it wasn’t noticed in your order confirmation. 
  • The color is incorrect 
  • Customer fumbles and the cake falls (believe us, it happens a lot and we want to help! )

We only accept pickup requests as late as 1 hour before close. This is 3:00pm at the absolute latest. Why? This allows us time to call the customer and have them pick it up in  the event that it is forgotten about. (happens all the time)

Our doors lock automatically at 4:00pm so if you show up past this time, we sadly won’t be able to help you out and you’ll have to pick up your order the following day.

Can I add writing to the top of a cake?

For the most part, yes! Most of our smaller cakes (6″4 layers), don’t allow for any writing because the top is very small (Displayed as such in each photo), but we can accommodate writing on anything larger! Just add your request to the notes section at the checkout!

However, there are some cakes that have lots of delicious edibles on top which don’t allow for any writing (Apple pie cake, death by candy, death by chocolate, salted caramel drip, unicorn…we’re looking at you). Instead, we recommend adding a cake topper to your order! Unfortunately, we don’t write on the sides of cakes, or on the boards. Sorry!

Can I make a change to my order?

Once an order has been confirmed and paid, we sadly cannot make any changes. If the order is already confirmed please send us an email about the change you’re wishing to make and the office can see what they’re able to do for you. Please be advised, we cannot guarantee any changes will be approved and ask for your understanding.

Can I just pay online or over the phone with a credit card?

Unfortunately, we’re not set up to take cards over the phone due to the high processing fees attached. Our payment options are either e-transfer (instructions sent via order confirmation), or you’re welcome to come into the bakery to make payment in store as late as 48 hours before the order is scheduled for pickup (before 4:00pm so the office can finalize it) As a small business, online credit card processing has high fee’s and we’d like to avoid them. We hope you understand!

Can I request an itemized invoice for accounting purposes?

Absolutely! Add the request in the notes section and we’ll be happy to include an invoice with your order confirmation.

I’m not seeing Saturday as a pickup option, Can I still place my order?

Our website can be a little tricky to navigate because the office is closed on the weekends, but you’re welcome to place the order for either the Thursday before, or the Monday following and add a note at the checkout stating you wish to pick up on Saturday instead. As long as this order is still submitted before our deadline Thursday for Saturday pickups, we should have no issue! If you’re emailing in your order, ALL information will be required before the deadline so we can submit the order for you.

I forgot to place my order before the deadline, am I out of luck?

You are welcome to reach out and ask via email. Late orders are considered on a case by case basis and are we are not obligated to accept any. If we choose to move forward with a late order, a 10% late fee will be applied. If we can’t accommodate a late order for you, we do always cakes in store. These are always baker’s choice so we can’t guarantee any specific flavours, but we will always have some selection.

Cakes in store are however, first come first serve with no holds (even if you ask nicely). This is to keep things fair for everyone. All cakes in store are 6″4 layer and serve 6-8 people. If you needed to feed more mouths, you’re welcome to purchase two cakes (who doesn’t love options!?), or purchase some extra cupcakes or desserts to help supplement servings.

We will have vegan options (dairy and egg free), and a gluten free option (dairy free but contains eggs). Unfortunately, all gluten free AND vegan cakes are only available for pre-order, sorry!
